RATCHET AND CLANK V JAK AND DAXTER: REMASTERED!

IT'S TIME!

TLDR

A Blog compiling research on Ratchet and Clank Vs Jak and Daxter, in order to determine the victor of a Death Battle.

INTRODUCTION

WELCOME TO THE MOHZONE! The place where being respectfully clothed is looked down upon and we put the crazies in power. Those two points may or may not be related. Joining me today, in part, is Electricstar. So let’s say hi!
Can I have the 10 brain cells you just robbed from me with that awful pun back?
No, they are mine now! Now let's go flying!
oka- WAIT WHAT?!

I'm FUCKING FLYIN!

Yes that’s a Heatran on a Balloon. Do you have a problem with my species?

Anyway, now for us to start with the Death Battle Prediction Blog, something that’s incredibly overdone, but what the heck, we wanna be part of a clique too. While some may feel these blogs, most of which will cover previously done fights, already predicted (Some, including this one, by
ODBFB members. If you don’t know who they are…how the hell did you get here?) We will be trying to spice things up and provide a different approach. Doesn’t mean that said fights will end differently but you know the drill.

Anyway THE FIGHT!

Sometimes, on rare occasions, Characters inside a company can become bitter rivals. No two Companies emphasize this more than Sonys internal rivalries between Naughty Dog and Insomniac. What started with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon continued on into something much bigger? Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank.

These two buddy duos have been rivals since their inception, and today we will analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a DEATH BATTLE.

Also Guns. There shall be guns.

Quick Note

These two franchises are very gameplay heavy, and don't have alot of media to pull from. As such alot of Stats and feats will be pulled from Gameplay, in order to round out everything. While not desireable in the slightest, it is unfortunately necessary for this battle.
While it is crucial to favour story over gameplay.... we kinda have very few options.

BACKGROUND

Jak and Daxter

In the dystopian Haven City, the only safe haven from the mighty desert and the ravenous Metal Heads,

The most hard-core named mooks in history!

…was the son of King Damos, who he named Mar. Damos was later betrayed and banished by Baron Praxis and Count Vegar and his son was stripped of his name and sent to the streets, known only as the kid. However a hero helped him out in his dire moment of need, saving him from the Metal Head leader Kor and sending him back in time with the Shadow, Leader of the resistance also known as Samos the Sage. There Mar took on a new name and life as Jak,

Because the letter C is overrated!

Jak grew up around Kiera, daughter of Samos, and Daxter, a young boy around their age. Jak and Daxter became good friends and constantly got into trouble, though even while leading, Jak never spoke. One day they journeyed out to the Misty Island, despite being warned not to, and Daxter fell into Dark Eco, the negative energy of the planet, and transformed into an Ottsel, which is some kind of, otter weasel thing.

A small rodent with an annoying voice and useless goggles atop its head? oh.....OH MY GO-

Samos sent Jak on a journey to visit Gol and Maia, experts in Dark Eco to change his friend back. After some rather boring events in comparison, Jak defeated a Mad Gol and Maia and saved the world from their terrible plan, while discovering he had the power to channel Eco through his body, augmenting it in some way. No point really looking into this too hard, that power is about to become irrelevant.

Grab some popcorn folks, things are about to get fun.

Jak and his group then inadvertently travelled back to the future, where Jak was captured by Baron Praxis. Praxis had fun using Jak as a personal lab rat, trying to inject the INCRDIBLY HARMFUL AND POISONOUS DARK ECO into his body to create a super solider. 2 years later, a negligent Daxter saved his friend, who uttered his first ever words. And what badass words!

Awwww, just like little Tommy's first words!

It’s at this point Jak starts to gain his Dark Eco Powers, along with Guns and later Light Eco Powers. But this is just background information, so we can leave this here.
Don't like to brag but we're movie stars.

Ratchet and Clank

Once in the Polaris Galaxy, The Cragmites and Lombaxes engaged in a legendary war, known later as the Great War. The tyrannical Cragmites fought the genius Lombaxes to a standstill, until the Lombaxes created the Dimensionator…

Which yes, its a hat.

The mightiest invention of the Lombaxes. They truly were the best of us.

As a TF2 fan, I am jelly.

…and they then used this to banish the Cragmites to another dimension...except for one, The Lombaxes later found a Cragmite egg, which they raised as their own. When Tachyon, the Cragmite from the egg, learned of his past, he razed the Lombax Planet of Fastoon with their own technology and a Drophyd army. Ultimately, after banishing the Lombax deemed responsible, only two known Lombax remained in this dimension as the others fled. Kaden, keeper of the Dimensionator, and his infant son. Tachyon chased Kaden down and before he could shoot him down, Kaden hid the Dimensionator and sent his son to a far off planet. Landing in the Solona Galaxy, The Boy would grow up on the Planet Veldin with the name…Ratchet.

Ratchet unknowingly followed in his species footsteps and became a master mechanic, although his own creations were often less than stellar, he could fix things better then most. Dreaming of intergalactic exploration, he built his own ship, which was missing one key ingredient, a robotic ignition system. Fortunately, A space ship crashed nearby, and a small robot was inside it. The two struck a deal to find a famous superhero named Captain Qwark, if the robot would be Ratchets ignition system. The robot was nicknamed Clank by Ratchet, Real Name XJ0461, Serial Number B5429671.

What followed was a story of a steadily growing friendship, of two vastly different beings who became like brothers...

Once Ratchet stopped acting like an asshole, that is.

And Guns. Sooo Many guns

Are there guns?

Many!

All Relevant Melee Skills
(In a scenario with environmental pic ups on)
Yellow Eco – Projectiles
Red Eco – Strength up
Blue Eco – Speed up

(Note the Lost Frontiers Eco Abilities are NOT included. (Basically that game is only good for feats) In Lost Frontier, Jak Gained Red, Blue, Yellow and Green Eco Abilities. However using these involved refracting light and dark eco, thus using them locks out Light/Dark powers, similar but MUCH weaker, with no passive buffs, in exchange for not really running out. As always we take Jak in his prime. )

Now lets Go In-depth and study the Eco-Freaks abilities.

Based Heihachi? More like basted Heihachi

Jak is primarily a Melee fighter…buuut his fighting style is unrefined, relying on lunges and swings to attack up close. He has his trade mark Roll, Lunge punch, Uppercut, Skydiving Slam and spin to do damage, and if All Stars is anything to go by, he has utilized his JET-board within combos to extend the range and speed. However, I’m setting a precedent and discounting any All Stars stuff for characters with acceptable feats in their canon. (Basically, the Only All Stars who, in my opinion, can use stuff from that game are Sweet Tooth, Parappa, Fat Princess, Toro and Sackboy) and the JET-board would not function that way, at all. It’s a very slow accelerating mode of transport that requires a while to get going, so zipping through the air like he does makes no sense. Ok, that’s enough on the Melee, we will come back to this when we cover Jak’s stats.

While Jak prefers CQC, there is no doubt that his guns are the most powerful tools in his arsenal. Let’s try cover these in brief, and if you want the Stats, look above. For this fight, Jak is using his most powerful guns, his Morph Gun weapon mods. Do note he has a hammer and Gunstaff from Playstation Move Heroes and Lost Frontier respectively, but not only do we wanna pretend they never happened, we once again, use the most powerful stuff Jak has. The Hammer sucks and the Staff is…well it’s just the tier 1 morph guns, minus its…big gun. Most of its big guns actually.

The Yellow mod is not the weapon Jak acquires first in either adventure but is certainly his go to, standard weapon. The weapon, like all weapons on the Morph Gun, Shares its ammo pool between its three mods.

Blaster is a…well Blaster. It’s on the tin. This would be Jaks equivalent to a pistol as well as a sniper in one. It’s semi-automatic with a decent fire rate and damage. Nothing more to say, plain and simple.

The Second mod is the Beam Reflexor. This is the Blaster but it bounces off things and loses a tiny bit of damage at the cost of another chance of hitting

Yellow Mod 3 is nice though. The Gyro Burster. This drone takes up 50 shots, as you already know if you’re actively reading, and starts raining death from the sky, locking onto foes and smacking them around, until it runs dry and fizzles out with a pop

Actually, before we move on, with the exception of the Red Mod, which we shall now cover, that’s the basis of Jak arsenal. Lock on. While Jak isn't the greatest natural marksman, nearly all of his weapons are either close range or lock on, with the laser sight guided above Yellow mods and one Blue mod being exceptions. Jak makes use of this by mixing most of his level 1 mods with his Melee, giving his techniques a decisive kick.

Now then, the Red Mod. This is a shotgun, a shotgun that’s also a wave gun and a grenade launcher. Needless to say this is the point and shoot mod, which is designed to hit many enemies at once with as much power as humanly (Jak is apparently human) Possible.

This mods primary weapon is the
Scatter Gun. It’s a shotgun, blasting a wave of Red Eco with a ridiculously wide spread (And dispersal of damage) to clear up smaller foes.

The Second tier is where we start to get into the fun stuff. The Wave Concussor sends a similar wave of Red Eco along the ground at various degrees of power depending on the charge, useful for gaining space of cleaning out the small ones.

But the big hitter, probably Jaks third biggest gun, is the Plasmite RPG, which launches a grenade of explosive red eco at foes. Its only decent range, in keeping with the theme of the mod, but it Bounces and Auto Tracks foes, before exploding.

No arsenal is complete without Machine Guns, and that’s what the Blue Mod Offers.  The
Vulcan Fury is a…Machine Gun that gets faster with every Shot. It consumes ammo really fast though.

It gets more interesting with the
Arc Wielder. This weapon uses Blue Ecos natural capabilities to produce an arc of electrical like energy in a continuous stream. Sucky range, unlike the Vulcan Fury, but more damaging and hard to escape from if hit.
...I want this weapon....
Can't you do that naturally? Like, out of your hands or whatever?
...i still want this weapon.

The Final tier is one of Jaks more infamous weapons, the Needle Lazer, (If you haven’t noticed it yet, these spelling “Mistakes” are intentional, a running gag in the Jak verse). This launches super-fast, razor sharp homing Blue Eco needles of death and destruction, and one of Jaks best, if most short lived, weapons for anarchy.

And now finally the infamous Dark Eco mod, starting with the most famous of the gun mods, and the most feared weapon in Jaks verse, the
Peacemaker. Ironic name, but peace will be achieved if…everything else dies.
I'm putting that on my tombstone... right next to, "always put the meats together"
...?
...long story.
This deadly weapon requires a long enough charge time, but once it fires, it launches a Dark Eco bolt that simulates a plasma ball, homing in on a foe and smacking them with a large blast and a shock, which then jumps to other foes, with equally painful shocks.
Tier 2 kinda is a let-down in comparison, the Mass Inverter. This weapon will only do damage as a kill shot, but it turns off gravity in a large radius.
Moving on…oh it’s that time

It’s time for the
Supernova, probably the deadliest power or weapon Jak has EVER owned. This is basically a miniature Nuclear War head. We don’t really know exactly what it does, other than the fact it shoots a rocket up, and then down, there’s a flash, and only a Mushroom cloud, Jak and Daxter remain.

Now let’s review his Eco Powers again.
Tl;Dr Version (Eco Consumption in Brackets)
Dark Jak
  • Increased Strength and Claws (Consumes Power per Swipe)
  • Dark Blast (All)
  • Dark Bomb (All)
  • Dark Strike (Large but not all)
  • Giant Jak (Increased Timer, all other abilities useable)
  • Invincibility (Increased Timer)
  • Dark Invisibility (Still visible to things that are Alive, Increased timer, Casts Shadow, Shootable)

Light Jak (INCL TPL Energy Blasts)
  • Afore mentioned Eco Blasts
  • Flash Freeze (All)
  • Light Flight (Not true Flight, Natural Timer)
  • Light Regeneration (As much as necessary, max All)
  • Light Shield (Increased Timer)
  • Can Wield guns (Drains Eco per Shot)
Also do not forget the Environmental Eco powers…but honestly Speed, Strength, and Energy Blasts sums them up.
As mentioned, when Jak and Daxter travelled to the future, he was immediately captured and experimented on for two years (While Daxter worked….”tirelessly” to free him) where he was injected with the highly volatile Dark Eco. Eventually, the experiments were a success and Jak gained a transformation: Dark Jak.

Ain't he the sweetest?

Dark Jak is a monstrous, feral version of Jak. He receives a massive strength increase, grows claws and tears apart anything that stands in his way, not to mention the fact a light charge of Dark Eco arcs along his foes just by standing by them, and the intensity increases as he slashes. Along with this, Jak gains access to certain skills as he progresses through his adventure.

The
Dark Blast is a powerful attack which involves Dark Jak jumping into the air and spinning at high speeds, launching arcs of Dark Eco at foes. It has a longer range then Dark Bomb.
The Dark Bomb has Jak leap into the air and slams onto the ground, sending shockwaves of Dark Eco at his foes. If Jak actually contacts a foe on the way down, it will do massive damage, way more than the Blast. Both of these attacks will drain Jaks Dark Eco pool without question.
Dark Strike has Jak shoot a two masses of Dark eco from his hands Kamehameha style, which split forming a string of shocking Dark Eco between them, traveling long distances.

Dark Giant has Jak grow to about 8 feet tall and increases…well everything. Every single stat and the power of all his Dark Powers goes up in this form, however he loses Eco much faster.

Invincibility…well speaks for itself. While it drains eco much faster, Jak can no sell attacks from ANY enemy he has ever faced.

Dark Invisibility turns him…well invisible. Sorta. He’s immune to Melee, but he’s more translucent then invisible, still casts a shadow, and can still be shot.

Dark Jak is a powerful transformation, but as stated it turns Jak completely mindless, he is unable to even think about using his weaponry in this form, and is stunned for a second upon leaving the form. Fortunately Jaks second transformation would mitigate these issues, when Jak met a Precursor Oracle, who granted him the power of pure light, infusing him with Light Eco, bringing about Light Jak.

God Mode Activated
Light Jak can shoot high power energy bolts capable of felling a Precursor Robot, slow time with Flash Freeze at the cost of massive Eco drain, heal with Light Regeneration which drains Eco relative to the HP he recovers, a Light Shield which cause damage on impact and is a shield, which has an extend Eco drain and prevents Jak from jumping, and finally the Light Flight…which is more of a glide then anything, honestly. Personality wise, Light Jak is…well just normal Jak.

Finally, Jak wears the Armour of Mar, a historical armour that covers much of his body and extends his relative health, and has the JET-board we mentioned earlier, which can be used to manoeuvre around the environment.

Daxter

Part Otter, Part Weasel, Part God: All Annoying
Tl;Dr
Exterminator Weaponry
  •  Electric Bug Swatter
  •  Spray Gun
  •  Flamethrower
  •  Ultrasonic Bomb
Dark Daxter
  •  Dark Eco Bolt
  •  Frenzy Mode (spin)
  •  Ground Pound
  •  Pick Up and Throw

Daxter, Jaks kinda faithful sidekick, is not entirely helpless. While his cowardly nature means he is happy for Jak to do all the fighting for him, he does have a few powers to keep him alive should they be separated. Daxters main purpose is, believe it or not, as
Jaks melee weapon of choice, extending the range of most of his attacks, notably the spin. During the two years he was searching for Jak, Daxter worked as an exterminator, and utilized an Electric Bug Swatter, a Spray Gun, a Flamethrower and an Ultrasonic Bomb. They all do what you expect and are designed for enemies far below what the other 3 are used to fighting, but he has them.

No Daxter’s real power comes in the form of his own transformation. BACKSTORY TIME!
As stated before, Daxter was originally human (apparently), but fell into Dark Eco and became an
Ottsel. Or at least, that was the species name given. Turns out, Daxter was actually given the form of a Precursor, or his universes Gods. Apparently their essence was stored in all eco, including the corrupted Dark Eco, and Dax basically lucked out. However even those who created it are not immune to the corruption caused by Dark Eco, and when Precursors were exposed to Dark Eco, they became Dark Makers. Similarly, when Daxter got Dark Eco dumped all over him, it gave rise to a new force of nature: Dark Daxter.

Because FUCK CANON!

Dark Daxter transforms the knee high Daxter into an eight foot tall hulking goliath, weaving destruction everywhere he goes.
Along with GIANT BUNNY EARS! THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES!
Actually that second one could be just when Daxter tries to do anything in particular, but as Dark Daxter it’s intentional. As it came from being dipped in Dark Eco twice, Daxter cannot access the form at will, it’s entirely tied to his emotions, but once he transforms, unlike Jak, he keeps his intelligence, and a lot of his mannerisms, if inverted (Predator not prey, Dislikes pants etc.) Dark Daxter can launch globs of Dark Eco, pick up enemies his size and toss them with no trouble, Spin at high speeds to tear through enemies, doors and projectiles and slam the ground hard enough to create a shockwave that damages foes. However eventually the transformation will run out, and leaves him exhausted. Also why he has this form and isn’t a Dark Maker has left the entire fanbase confused, but most people pretend The Lost Frontier never happened. We, as Debaters, don’t have that luxury. We just lucked out with how easy it was to pick up the scraps.
Its for the bolts, its for the bolts...

Lombaxes: Use more wrenches than Plumbers...HEY SPEAKING OF PLUMBERS...

Ratchets primary melee weapon is his Omniwrench Millennium 12, which was created based off his previous Wrenches by the experienced and very senile warbots Cronk and Zephyr. Not only did they heighten its abilities to the point Ratchets Hyperstrike (Ground pound) creates a larger impact than ever before, and perfectly balance it so Ratchet can perform the Comet Strike (Throw the wrench!) while moving, they added a Kinetic Tether, which Ratchet can throw at objects and remotely clamp onto them…it is a wrench after all. It can also snag small enemies. Ratchet clearly likes it, as it’s the Wrench he has held onto for the most adventures. Given the events of the most recent game, (WARNING! MAJOR SPOILERS FOR RATCHET AND CLANK: INTO THE NEXUS!) it’s unlikely he’ll be rid of it, anytime soon.  It should be noted this is probably not his best Standard Melee weapon, The Obsidian Blade from Deadlocked and the Praetorian Omniwrench wielded by Alister Azimuth (And the weapon that did THIS! *AGAIN SPOILERS, THIS TIME FOR Crack In Time!*, due to the fact its negative energy shuts down Nanotech) probably surpass it, its not like he's lacking experience in using the Praetorian Wrench after all, but it’s clearly the one he is most comfortable with.

Not that it matters much as Ratchet much prefers to fight with a plan in mind and a big gun in hand then a melee weapon at the end. While making space with the
3 hit combo helps, it’s far from all Ratchet can do.  To do this we are using what Ratchet is most comfortable with, and then filling in the rest of the quick select, a 8x3 Weapon Wheel system that allows Ratchet (And Clank!) to switch between weapons at a thought (The Quick Select pause is Canon!). Keep in mind, Ratchet does canonically own every weapon in the franchise so if your favourite weapon doesn’t show up, it’s no biggy. In terms of how Ratchet fights with these guns, he tends to stack their effects while avoiding enemy fire, using a commando technique called strafing. With this Ratchet can keep his eyes on a target at all times, flipping in all directions to avoid their fire while walking sideways, with no real speed drop. He mixes in melee too.

I'm not captioning all of these

Ratchet has one of the largest, most versatile, and deadliest arsenals in video game history.

Ratchet has wielded many blasters throughout his numerous galaxy saving quests, but he appears to have fallen for the humble Combuster, now Magma Combuster. This thing fires radioactive blasts of plasmic fireballs at its foes, 3 for every one ammo count, in 3 different directions. Fairly low damage for Ratchet, but quick and easy to use in a pinch.

So let’s move on to his shotgun of choi…oh. OH. It’s starting already.

For those of you who may not be informed, Ratchet and Clank is known for 3 things. Solid Gameplay, characters and humour, innuendo out the butt and the strangest yet highly destructive weapons in all of gaming.

... that's 5 things...

The games too good to have drugs involved, so I suggest for the betterment of humanity locking up the creative team at Insomniac, for the good of all.

Ok back to the insane weapons. The Super Sonic Eruptor!

Yeah...You are NOT seeing things. The Super Sonic Eruptor is a genetically altered Xenegote (No I don’t know what they are either, which will be a common theme) mounted on a gun. When fired, the weapon forces the poor…disgusting creature to utter a mating call (Before you ask, yes this weapon comes with a warning to NOT use around female Xenegotes) which, thanks to the alterations, comes out as a sonic blast. If the trigger is pulled when the creature has a mouth full of air, to the point his cheeks are full, the blast gets wider and deadlier. Also the matured Xenegote in the Super Sonic Eruptor spews toxins on the floor as it blasts…well that’s just nasty. Ratchet supposedly defeated Dr Nefarious, his arch-nemesis, at his most powerful with ONLY this weapon.

Ever wonder what it’s like to be surrounded by spinning, acidic armour piercing death? INTRODUCING THE DOOM BLADES! The Doom Blades bounce off surfaces when fired, homing in on the opponent, then upon making contact (And with 200 armour piercing rounds active at the same time, its making contact.) leaves behind the residue of the “high molarity, Raritanium-piercing (Yes its many times stronger and lighter then titanium, but also an ore that can power stuff up) hydro chloro biocidic acid” (actual quote, no I don’t know what that means, lost me after Raritanium-piercing. Taking a guess its Hydrochloric Acid but nastier) to inflict a lot of residual damage. Despite its appearance and rapid fire rate, this is a surprisingly deadly weapon, even compared to most of Ratchets arsenal.

The Lightning Ravenger is one of the deadliest melee weapons the Lombax has, and nope he is not limited to just the Omniwrench. This weapon has a lot going for it with projectile reflection, long range that actually reached behind the user at the peak of its swing and to his sides, releases a pulse of electricity at its peak, goes behind shields and is…well if you didn’t guess, lightning. Using a process called quantum chaining, the whip expanded electrically and upon making contact, begins to jump from foe to foe. This was originally meant to be a bath toy, but even the universe that gave an artificial pet razor sharp teeth and are responsible for Nuclear powered Toasters, thought this was a bad idea.

However as solid a mid-distance weapon this is, for true up close combat, the Shredder Claws are Ratchets go to weapon for up close bruising, as one of the most powerful weapons Ratchets owns overall, that’s not surprising. If Ratchet was I a 2D fighting game, these would be of great use as they rely entirely on combos. Everytime they make contact, with their extremely fast and powerful blows, they increase in power, but if Ratchet is hit, the damage resets. On their third strike, they release Floomis Energy…no I don’t know what that is.

That’s 3 times, it’s a gag now.

The Plasma Slayer is a snipers dream. It’s relatively silent as a crossbow, even of the plasma variety (despite its appearance, it shoots plasma bolts, not arrows.) it detects a foes weakpoints and is armour piercing…actually that’s incorrect. It’s so powerful it goes through one enemy and into the next one.

For terrain control, Ratchet has the Storm Spikes, which when launched shock nearby foes. However when Ratchet throws multiple, beams of electrical energy zap between them creating a web of high voltage death to protect the user. The Isokinetic Kinetic Refractor (…) inside this weapon arcs the lightning between any foes in range.

ALL HAIL ZURKON...

HE GOT GAME! Thats a BIIIIIIIG momma

Mr Zurkon. This sadistic little synthanoid has become one of the series mainstays for a reason. This little thing has a thing for one liners of the…snarky (?) kind. He’s not really witty, but he’s gonna kill you and he knows it, and makes sure you know it and how inferior you are and how much he’s going to enjoy killing you.
Basically a tiny, weaponized, standard egomaniacal villain.
Mr Zurkon shoots chargeable plasma blasts, can summon his family and work with them as a team…and explode when he finishes. Not much more to him. What makes him dangerous is the fact his master is STILL Shooting at you while hes’s firing off his gun and his mouth.

Nuclear. It’s pronounced. Nuclear. That’s what the Agents of Dread are all about. This weapon launches a set of 4 drones per shot, to a max of 8, one set of which will begin to fly around Ratchet, the other running around on the floor. Then, they will begin to pelt you with NUCLEAR MISSILES BEFORE CHARGING YOU AND EXPLOADING IN A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION! PER DRONE!
Overkill much…oh wait they are the small ones.

The Vortex Cannon is the upgrade for Ratchets infamous Suck Cannon. It’s actually really simple. It’s a vacuum that sucks up small enemies and boxes, before spitting them back out as flaming comets.

The Blizzard Mine Glove is an upgraded CyroMine Glove which was created by Kaden, Ratchets father. This weapon has a modified Terrafrost Dispersal Mechanism so when it homes in on foes, it can freeze a lot of foes in a single area, quite effectively. Foes much taller than Ratchet are brought to a complete standstill, and are left perfectly vulnerable for an assault.

"The Alpha Cannon is so powerful it was once thought to be the lost "Lombax Secret." It improves upon the Alpha Disruptor's already fearsome firepower by creating a massive explosive impact with every enemy it hits. If there are any foes within 12 cubits of the blast radius, rest assure you won't be seeing them in the sequel." In game description of the Alpha Cannon. (Note the Cubit measurement is not equal to IRL Cubits (50 Cm). If it did the 3 ¾ Centicubit hexagonal washer, if you keep it consistent to known stats, would only be about 2 cm, and it’s the size of the entirety of Clanks hand. The cubit measurement is impractical, and inconsistent, so we shall not be using it. )

The Alpha Cannon is a Lombax manufactured weapon that fires a quantum beam of potent isokinetic energy, and through use of an Anti-Matter Transfluxor, it can pass through foes and explode with every impact. Internal explosions are NOT Fun.

In laymans terms somebody put a Kamehameha into a gun.

Another Weapon type R&C is infamous for is its Animorph weapons.  The Chimpositron is probably the most lethal of these, as it doesn’t morph the organic material of robots, turning Organics into monkeys and robots into cymbal monkeys. We dunno how this former party gag works just that it has two Transmorpher chambers and thus can lock onto and morph two foes at once.
Gotta wonder what guy with a black hole for a heart thought this up and put it on the marke-
LET’S TALK BLACK HOLES!

We will be talking about these two weapons at the same time. The Singularity Grenade (Above) and the Rift Ripper (Below). Unfortunately Black Hole is all there is too it. The Singularity Grenade is a bomb glove style weapon that has Ratchet toss one or more out, tossing out a black hole that will suck up, and dismantle enemies, or if they can resist the pull, leave them floating there. The Rift Ripper is a black hole gun. Literally you shoot and a black hole appears. 3 can be overlaid for more suction and multiple can be spawned. They also shock nearby enemies too.

When the going gets rough…Ratchet has normally killed the going by now. However that won’t always cut it, sometimes he will need a defence to help out, so he summons the Tesla Barrier, which using ahigh voltage electro static component, absorbs shots and shocks foes, while Ratchet continues the carnage.

And now, MORE DRONES! The Dopplebanger is a weapon that Ratchet had exclusively in All 4 One, though later shared in Full Frontal Assault/Q-Force. It launches an extremely punch able decoy foes can’t help but attack, but unlike standard decoys, this one fires back with high calibre attacks. Completes the illusion I guess?

And now for more passive weapons, the Toxic Swarmers. This weapon is incredibly deadly, as it points at you…and you freeze. No really it has a Zero-Kelvin Laser Diode laser sight which has temperatures of absolute zero as the name would imply. Then the nanosects housed within the weapon attack whatever the light shines upon, stinging with Pyrocidic stingers, before injecting the foe with Zanifarian Death Weasel venom, leaving some burn damage as it dies. Basically you’re attacked by explosive highly venomous robo-bees, while freezing to death.

While only available while Clank is snugly on Ratchets back (He has plenty on the ground though, trust me), the
Clank Shocker sends a (Again Passive) bolt of electrical energy at the foe in front of Ratchet from Clanks antenna. Oh and he has eye lasers for sneak attacks.

Yes. Laser eyes.

In keeping with the tamed animals cruelly fused with metal to be used as a weapon theme set earlier, Ratchet has purchased a Netherbeast, now
Netherfiend, a mid-range melee weapon. Ratchet throws a punch, the Nether will replicated it on the nearest enemy in the line of sight. Not to mention if Ratchet is hit, the ever loyal Netherfiend will counterattack.

The Infecto-Bomb fired glob of a mysterious substance that worked via proprietary "nano-virus globules" which, when shot at an enemy, got into their bloodstream through the membrane, which was a mild cause of poisonous dementia. However, the effect was not permanent and it would eventually wear off. Low damage but the anarchy created can be crucial.

The Peacemaker (Yes I know, same name as Jaks second best gun…) is the upgrade to Ratchets new favourite Rocket launcher series, the Warmonger, a revolving Terraklon weapon that shoots two missiles per round. It has a heat seeking function for lock on, and on contact explodes and sends shrapnel everywhere. This was the most powerful weapon during the campaign against Zurgo.
However during that campaign, there was a more useful weapon, and has been before or since.

The Gold ones better. Literally. Infinite Ammo.
The
Groovibomb, better known as its predecessor, the Groovitron. This hypnotic disco ball plays Disco Music that no enemy can resist, though in its most powerful forms plays rock music (Discos natural successor) and explodes when the dance is complete. Those caught in the mesmerising field of funky had better hope they have good armour…or life insurance…

Because that’s when Ratchets biggest gun comes out to play. The Rip Ya a New One series of weapons are one of the most infamous in video game history. Each is a devastatingly powerful weapon, ranging from a Missile launcher, a bigger missile launcher, a missile launcher that vaporised anything it contacted, including dropships, a dark matter cannon and a robot suit that, should two missiles collide from two separate suits, shall blow up everything in the area. However Ratchet has a preference for the
 RYNO V.
We all know how this goes. The Ryno VII IS better tho
While the concept was extremely improved upon with number VII, who are we to judge? The RYNO V is the infamous 1812 Overture gun, a weapon that launches
3000 rounds of energy bullets and rockets in a cone of death. Nothing in that cone tends to live.
The 1812 Overture?... Why do i suddenly have the urge to scream about saaaaaand?
So how powerful are all these weapons?

Well lets take a fodder, lvl 1 weapon. We aren’t using it here, but the weapon in question shall be the Fusion Grenade, the base grenade in Tools of Destruction. And as calculated by former resident forum genius
ClassicGameGuys/Protodude, who used to run Fatal Fiction, even that is capable of wiping out anything from a large building to an entirety of our city blocks(Unfortunately, he has deleted a grand total of all his calcs for personal reasons). Why doesn’t this happen in R&C? Well everything is a hell of a lot stronger there, and reinforced with Nanotech. Nanotech explains all.

When did we move to
 a Metal Gear analysis?

Speaking of which lets cover some of Ratchets non weaponry based tech. Although Ratchet has had many armours, canonically he has been in his base armour, represented mostly by the pilot suit, in every game. Though if we were to give him armour, the
Trillium armour is probably the best bet. Despite the fact the Carbonox armour could absorb 90% of damage, the Infernox used its tech and absorbed less. Reasoning? Tech got better. Trillium armour is made using Lombax tech (I.e. the most advanced) and made from the hardest metal in their universe (Which is also highly toxic, but every Lombax, without question, is medically insane) and blocked 65% of damage in Tools, when weapons got to their current power level, and that success hasn’t been surpassed.

He’s not completely stuck for armour. Even back when all he wore was pants and a harness, Ratchet loved a good pair of shoes. His
Grind Boots allow him to grind along rails, his Charge Boots send him bursting forward and his Gravity Boots allow him to fight as normal on metallic, magnetic surfaces, no matter the angle or gravity. Though his favoured pair of shoes is his father’s Hoverboots which allow him to move far faster and simulates Clanks helipack glide.

Then we have
Nanotech, which is essentially Ratchets Durability. With this Ratchet will fight at 100% until he can no longer fight as they repair his body, and he can absorb them into his skin. He also carries a Nano-Pak, which restores 20% of his Nanotech should he run low.
Akimbo Wrench. On fire. Why not?
Should Ratchet happen across an
 Inferno Crate,
Inferno Mode Ratchet shall rise. Dual Wielding Wrenches that are on fire, which have had a massive power buff, and having the Inferno Armour (Not to be confused with Infernox, which is the replica Gadgetron made) which is also on fire, Ratchet is completely immune to damage from anything in his verse, and can take down non bosses in 2 or 3 shots.
Duct tape. is there anything it can't do?

  •  Fly through space, possibly at FTL Speed
  •  Fire Laser Blasts on a whim

Second, Smaller Form, roughly 7 feet tall, Stronger and Faster than Base Clank, Wields guns, Built in Hoverboots, Heliblades.
Other more minor abilities, such as the Clank light, and a seemingly infinite storage space

That is A LOT of abilities for a little guy, so let’s get started!

Clanks Helipack is what he is most well-known for, due to its constant presence since its introduction in the first game. The Helipack allows Ratchet to High Jump, Long Jump etc. Clank can legitimately fly with it, and use its helicopter blades as Shuriken.

The
Thrusterpack is exactly the same with jets, and the Hydropack functions like the Thrusterpack outside water, where it becomes an outboard motor on steroids.
We have already covered the Clank Shocker so let’s cover the others. The Gel Jetpack allows the duo limited flight, to a better degree than any other power up Clank has and is combat viable, while the Geo-Laser allows the duo to cut into their surrounding if structurally vulnerable. Clank also owns a pair of Hoverboots as of Full Frontal Assault/Q-Force, which function identically to Ratchets.

Clank is relatively passive, and prefers to let Ratchet do the fighting while offering assistance. However, when he needs to, Clank is more than willing to get down and dirty. He fought in All 4 One and Full Frontal Assault/Q-Force after all, and we will touch on stuff he got in those in brief later on.

Clank has developed his own martial arts style, called, with much originality, Clank-Fu. This style integrates moves to simulate Ratchets combat prowess out of Clanks tiny servos, though they have been heavily upgraded throughout the series off screen, clearly. Clank can even simulate the might Hyper Strike, and Comet Strike (This one is where the Helipack Shuriken comes into play) with power equal to Ratchet, Nefarious and Captain Qwark.
However Clank also has a Melee weapon.

The Chronoscepter.

See Clank isn’t just a robot, he has a soul, the soul of a Zoni, which makes him immune to Timebased abilities, which was furthered by the Quantum Actuator installed by Sigmud. Not only is he a Zoni Robot, he is the son of the head Zoni, Orvus, also known as Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi (Bless you based Martinet.)

The radish lifter!? Surely you jest!

Which in turn makes him heir to the Mushroom Kingdom the Great Clock, a massive Space Station in the exact centre of the universe (give or take 50 feet) which regulates the flow of space time after the Zoni let the Fongoids mess it up. This massive machine had over 4.3 trillion moving parts, making it the most complicated piece of machinery in the known universe. Second was the IRIS Supercomputer, and third was a Terachnoid juice maker. Its sole purpose is to regulate the flow of Space Time, and can be used to fix all anomalies that occur throughout the universe. In order to keep the overly complex piece of tech running, Orvus built the Chronscepter to manage it, which uses Quantum Energy to fix all things mechanical with a swipe. The Chronoscepter can also give Clank Time Bombs, which are massive bundles of Quantum Energy, which slow down time of anything caught in its radius, to a significant degree. Clank can also use this energy to reverse the path of any projectile.

Ontop of this, Clank has the Zoni Blaster which has a similar effect to the Time Bombs.

Despite being an intergalactic hero, Clanks real claim to fame in the Solana Galaxy is his movie star status as Secret Agent Clank, which is so good, some people like Doctor Nefarious believed it to be real. Funnily enough, Clank actually IS a secret agent. Yes it makes as much sense as you think it does.

Clank. XJ0461 Clank.
As an Agent, Clank holds several Gadgets, such as his Tie-A-Rang, a tie covered in buzzsaws that homes in on foes, the Cufflink Bombs, which were bombs stored in cufflinks (Duh) made of an explosive piezoelectric element, Volitaium, which could be used as mines or bombs, the Blowtorch Briefcase, which is a Megacorp Portable Rocket Engine 2000 in a briefcase (Yup, rocket engine), the Tanglevine Carnation, a Venus Flytrap type weapon that likes to eat things, forever, the ThunderStorm Umbrella, which shoots lightning and only loses ammo if Clank hits the foe, the Holo-Knuckles, which produced solid objects to improve Clanks melee and also block enemy fire, and the Hypno-Watch, which draws enemies into position so Clank could stealth past, or set them up for a fall.

DEM GAINS!
And when Clank wants to do that, he will transform into Giant Clank, one of the most famous parts of the franchise. Clank has a two different forms, a 7 Foot Tall one that buffed his durability and physical prowess, gave him inbuilt hoverboots and much larger Heli-shuriken, though he still relies on his weaponry.

Anyone who played the Klunk boss fight in UYA will get this joke
However, these are trumped if he gets his hands on an Ultramech pad. Standing on this allows Clank to access the Original Giant Clank form. 110 Feet Tall, capable of leaping above skyscrapers and felling them with a single blow, throwing energy bombs, firing missiles, capable of interstellar travel with his inbuilt rocket thrusters, Laser cannons and a barrage of lasers, both of which capable of taking down a fleet of spaceships with no trouble.

PHYSICAL STATS AND FEATS

Jak and Daxter

  • Successfully defeated Gol and Maia, Kor and the Dark Makers, as well as Skyheeds eco freaks
  • Tamed the Dark Jak transformation with Light Eco
  • Dark Daxter can tear through giant metal doors at full power.
  • Won the Kras City Grand Championship while poisoned.
  • Survived for an extended amount of time in the Wasteland.
  • Took down two Precursor Robots and a terraformer.
  • Strolled into Metal Head and KG Deathbot territory without a care and lived to tell the tale.
  • Daxter had a giant piece of stone dropped flat on his head, crushing him flat, and lived.

Ratchet and Clank

  • Has saved a lot of Galaxies, multiple times, sometimes on their own.
  • No seriously, they felled empires solo! Drek, Nefarious (Twice), Tachyon (a well-established empire, with an army that pushed back his entire race) and more.
  • Survived multiple Gladiatorial combat rings, including Dreadzone, which had claimed the lives of many other heroes. So of course, he shut the network down, permanently.
  • Flies the Aphelion at likely faster than light combat speeds. At combat speeds, the Aphelion in its weaker, original incarnation was able to escape the pull of a black hole and turn on a dime, no sweat, with no visible power increase. Ratchet then proceeded to preform many tricks and turns through a moon to destroy a pirate base, showing to have insane reactions.
  • Has tanked hits that would fell most heroes, like the Hypernova Defence Laser.
  • Held off a War Grok with his bare hands.
  • Most of his boss battles are against foes many times his size.
  • Hunts down giant monsters for sport.
  • Ratchet took down the massive Mr Eye on his own
  • Giant Clank levelled a city that encompassed the entirety of a moon. Multiple times.
  • Giant Clank is capable of interplanetary travel.
  • The duo survived impacting the ground after being flung out of Nefarious Space station, into a new sector many miles away on an asteroid, though some damage was cancelled out by Zoni Bio Energy.
  • Clank completely overpowered Captain Qwark in his base form.
  • Both are strategic masterminds and trained warriors.

VERDICT

Well…emm…How to put this…gently…to fans of one of these franchises?

Oh I got it.

If Jak and Daxter survive for twenty seconds, they should get down on their knees and thank the Precursors for being merciful, and beg the Ottsels to take them on some sort of universal quest to get them the HELL away from the Last Lombax and Zoni Robot.

Such an unbiased viewpoint...

I prefer bluntly honest. Jak and Daxter are heavier and taller, but are not physically stronger in base. Its equal at best, advantage Ratchet and Clank at worst, as Jak and Dax have nothing to stand up to the War Grok feat of Ratchet, and Clank is at least as strong. Jak’s range advantage is also mitigated by the Omniwrench, and the difference in height is so small between Clank and Daxter, Dax doesn’t have a height advantage, and Clank is far more skilled then he is.

In terms of Weaponry, Jak and Daxter are hilariously outclassed. The Supernova, the strongest weapon in Jaks universe, including the Lobber which we did not cover, is basically a Miniature Nuclear Missile, a type of power surpassing his Eco Skills, the type of fire power Ratchet has been throwing around since his second game, and has since been reduced to fodder level weapons only good for fodder level enemies, like the Fusion Grenade mentioned earlier, and by now that’s irrelevant. And that’s the minor ones. Out of all the weapons I gave Ratchet, which was relatively conservative, only the Combuster and the Infecto-Bomb probably wouldn’t one shot him. Maybe? I can’t really tell, but most of his weapons have armour and energy shield piercing qualities, bypassing all of Jaks possible defences. They also leave burn damage, and although the Duo have dealt with that before, it was a slow acting poison, not instant death Weasel poison.

Note to self: buy instant death weasel poison to stop menace...

Jaks two main powers here are the Flash Freeze for Light and for Dark, Invincibility (With Giant), but even then, Clank is immune to time stops and can counter with his own, which is much more powerful. When Eco, all of which bar Dark stems from Light, was thrown out of balance, Jaks planet was nearing destruction. When Quantum Energy went out of whack, Planets exploded before Orvus made his little pocket watch, and when THAT broke, it threatened the universe. Heck it once exploded and created the Netherverse Mr Eye and the Progs hail from. And Ratchet was AT GROUND ZERO! As for invincibility, Ratchet can stall that out with weaponry like the Groovibomb, or bypass it (And other armour,) completely with the Alpha Cannon ETC. Also while supernatural elements are nothing new to Ratchet, what with the whole Darkwater thing, and the Ghost Station from Dreadzone, Technology like the interstellar duo is non-existent in the Jak verse, meaning he would not think of countering any of Ratchets weapons, like the Groovibomb. Even if he did, the power gap makes it unlikely the guns would do anything bar a Supernova, maybe. Heck Ratchet is far more likely to counter Jak’s weapons, he’s seen them all before, at a higher tier of power

Beam Reflexor = Chopper... at best

Standard yellow gun = any rifle type weapons
Scatter gun = Blitz gun... at best
Plasmite RPG = mini nuke... aaaaat best
Vulcan Fury = any of his blasters, like, pick one
Arc Welder = Tesla Coil
Needle Lazer = Buzz Blades, laserfied, but heavily nerfed
Peacemaker = Plasma Coil, without the bouncing.
Mass Inverter = Temporal Repulsor…Without the timestop. Yes Ratchet has a gun that can ALSO stop time. A GUN!
Supernova - mini nuke... at best
On that note
“Oh but Moh, Azimuth killed Ratchet and he used a Peacemaker like blast!” Yes, this is true, but the Negative Energy in the Praetorian Wrench shuts down Nanotech, the Peacmaker doesn’t, meaning Ratchet can more than tank the blow. And that Wrench has shown ridiculous power anyway, cracking bits of the Great Clock with its blows.

The Dark powers showed impressive strength, but Ratchets Melee weapons and Clanks instant Giant forms put them on level par, and Inferno Mode and Giant Clank far surpass them. Giant Clank could probably tear down Haven city and the duo can do nothing but watch. And the Walloper, a weapon from the first game, is said to be able to punch things to freakin Orbit! In fact taking weapon statements 100% literally gives us ridiculous things like Planet level RYNOS minimum, a Star System levelling Landstalker (A spider tank) and a missile launcher in the Arbiter that produces Shockwaves so intense, they can be felt across the entire universe, before fading into another reality. Hyperbole? Probably. But we can't prove otherwise either.

Finally, training, experience, success rate and intellect. Starting with the latter, Jak is a headstrong solider, who is always told what to do, does it, and gets angry about that. Even putting him in a Lost Frontier state of mind, he’s just an idiot teenager. Dax is well…Daxter, and if you played any of the games, you know his intellect is a lost cause. Meanwhile, Ratchet and Clank are expert mechanics and strategic masterminds, capable of making big decisions and leading armies, and have fought most of their wars/rebellions in charge. They have been trained as commandos, whereas Jak was trained by trial by fire, which Ratchet has in spades. And by virtue of amount of games alone, it’s clear the Intergalactic Duo has an experience advantage, but to be clear, conflicts Jak deals with once a game, Ratchet deals with once a planet. And the final nail in the proverbial coffin, Ratchet and Clank have never failed to take out an indestructible army and rid a planet, later a galaxy of what plagues it, whereas Jak and Daxter have to this day, failed at removing the Metal Heads from Haven City, although if they did succeed it took them two adventures to remove ONE army from a single city (It’s implied they died off, but their presence in Jak X makes it sketchy). Even if we included Vehicles, and removed the Environmental buffs, Aphelion and lack of places for Jak to restock Eco respectively imply the result would not change in the slightest.

Jak and Daxter fought valiantly, but in the end, they both got ripped a new one.

The Winners are Ratchet and Clank.

DON'T GO INTO THE LIGHT JAK, DON'T GO INTO THE LIGHT...WHY DID YOU GO INTO THE LIGHT!

Jak and Daxter

Advantages

  • Taller and Heavier
  • Ratchet could be caught by Timehax

Disadvantages

  • Clank could not
  • Minus Dark Daxter, Daxter is useless here
  • Could not counter Ratchets weapons due to lack of knowledge and power
  • Not as strategically inclined.
  • Slower, Less Durable, Less Experienced
  • Giant Clank
  • Every Eco power is countered by standard weapon abilities.
  • Melee advantage mitigated by weaponry and inferior speed
  • Weapons hilariously outclassed
  • Ammo Capacity severely lacking
I always thought that, YOU were the sidekick. Hehehehehehe.

Ratchet and Clank

Advantages

  • Clanks Timehax is superior and more numerous that Jaks
  • Weaponry is far more powerful. Like ridiculously more.
  • Far more Durable, Armour or no, to the point of naturally no selling Most of Jaks weaponry
  • Smarter, more experienced.
  • Everything Jak and Daxter throw out, they have previously encountered and can counter
  •  Longer range options
  • Far more impressive feats
  • - Hoverboots > JET-Board
  • - Greater destructive potential
  • -Giant Clank
  • -Not covered in blog, but wise cracking attitude of both would eventually piss off Jak and Daxter

Disadvantages

  • Smaller and lighter
  • Ratchet on his own, could be vulnerable to timehax
  • At a disadvantage vs extended Melee combat vs a Dark form

So that’s that. Any final Words Star?

Freeeeeeee. Freeeeee fallin!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Moh/Star, can't Jak just stop time and kill R&C then?

A: Read the blog, but no. Not only does Clanks Zoni heritage give him an inbuilt immunity to time stuff below a full scale universal rewind (and he was shown moving straight after said rewind, when everything else was still), Jaks best weapon won't kill Ratchet through his nanotech.

Q: BUT DARK JAK IS INVINCIBLE!

A: No. No he is not. Even in gameplay, Jak is only invincible if he uses the power called as such in Jak 2. If you PLAYED that game and came out thinking Jak was invincible after dying to mooks over and over and over and...

Q: Light Jak can steal souls, GG no re.

A: over and over and over and...

I got this one. This is not an ability Light Jak possesses. The mistake made by the person who brought this theory forward was thinking Light Eco drops by killed enemies were souls. It has no backing in canon whatsoever.

Q: But what if Ratchet loses his weapons?

A: AND OVER! Wasat? Oh that one. Yes if Ratchet, and Clank, lost every single one of their weapons, Jak would probably beat them. I say probably as it takes but one Infernox crate and/or Ultramech pad to turn that around. But I digress, yes, Jak could take all of Ratchets weapons on him and win. But consider this. Ratchets and Clank combined have countless weapons, each individual to the other they can call up on a whim. Some are gloves, or wrist mounted and very hard to disarm. They are designed around immobilization or mass destruction, or hax or all three. They have separate ammo pools and he can restock on a whim.

Jak has one gun, tied to four ammo stores that drain quickly, and 2 eco stores, which drain quickly. Ratchet is the more skilled fighter, and the Intergalactic Heroes are much smarter than Havens saviours.

Ratchet and Clank aren't running out of weapons, not before Jak and Daxter do.

Q: Why is that such a big deal? Jak can just find ammo/an eco vent on the ground/Eco in general

A: Giving Jak access to these would be rigging the fight, if you don't give R&C similar. That means Inferno Crates, Ultramech Pads, Vendors, Scattered ammo and bolts and Nanotech.

Jak and Daxter cannot refill their eco supply without environmental help, and even with it they would have to restock alot before Ratchet and Clank even have to think about it. Which sums the fight up pretty well. Ratchet and Clank last longer and do more damage smarter, more intelligently and with more experience.

Q: But what if DEATH BATTLE! say...

A: Stop. No theories here.

Any more questions will be added as we feel they are needed to. Stay tuned, I will give my full thoughts on the full, OFFICIAL Ratchet and Clank V Jak and Daxter episode when it airs on April 25th.

Oh and Percy v Harry...I will do that at some point. Tests coming up.

Till Next Time!

  1. Ok, Moh, some things:

Nanotech isn't a healing factor, not by a long shot. If it was, Ratchet wouldn't need to collect it from crates, it would just heal him over time.

Ratchet's durability comes into question when you mention the Hypernova Defense Laser, because Azimuth actually killed Ratchet with a simple energy blast from his omniwrench. If you listen closely to that scene, you can hear Ratchet's heart stop; he died. Yeah, Clank reversed time and stopped it from happening, but you get my point. So are you gonna say that Azimuth's wrench is more powerful than a space station's defense lasers? Yeah, tanking the HDL is pretty much a gameplay feat.

The black holes created by the Rift Ripper and the Singularity Grenade are no different than Mega Man's Black Hole Bombs, and we know how well THOSE worked for him.

And the Morklon meteor feat in ACIT is up for debate. We don't actually see Ratchet taking anything from it. What we DO see, is Ratchet waking up while being enveloped in A Zoni shield. Since Ratchet didn't even have any burn damage (atmospheric re-entry's a thing, even on an alien planet), it's only logical to assume the Zoni shield blocked ALL damage. So the meteor "feat" is kind of a non-issue.

    1. On Nanotech: It heals him as long as he has a supply. once it runs out, it stops healing him, that much is obvious. Basically as long as he has it, he fights at 100%.

Negative Energy as fired by the Pratorean Wrench uses Negatively charged energy as stated in the comics. its pretty much anti technology, including Nanotechnology. meaning it bypasses 90% of Ratchets durability. Its also insanely powerful in and of itself, with its swings causing massive damage to the Great Clock. Given attack potency =/= AoE you actually COULD argue its more powerful than the HDL. its certainly more effective against Mooks.

The black holes may not be solar system level Black Holes, but they are still extremely powerful singularities. Megaman comparison doesn't work as its been proved Megamans black holes were legit in many places and DB just flubbed that

The Morklon feat i'll give you is sketchy, however some of the shit Ratchet has tanked goes way beyond Atmospheric re-entry, which is only building level. Its hitting the Atmosphere at massively FTL Speeds (must be to get that far across the Galaxy as fast as they did) and probably didn't slow down much after that which is where the Zoni would have blocked most of the damage. Obviously if you know physics FTL Kinetic Energy isn't a thing, but the energy output of that impact would be unquantifiably massive regardless.

    2. If Azimuth's wrench IS that powerful, then why can't he just one-shot everything? Like the entire Agorian invasion force on Lumos?

And Gimlick Valley would've been destroyed (worse than it already was) if the meteor impacted at those speeds

      Delete
    3. Oh, I almost forgot. The Verdigris "Black Hole" is really a wormhole. Nothing can exist in a true black hole, not even light. So if it WAS a black hole, and technology advanced enough to resist it's crushing force, how could Ratchet see Greasepalms McGee enough to fight him?
